Hello! I’m Caitlin Reid and I am a third year Bioengineering student. I grew up in Bend Oregon and could not be more proud to have this as my hometown. In my free time I love to read, spend time with friends, and make people laugh. After finishing my degree at OSU I hope to attend a Master’s program and work in medical research.

In Bend I attended Mountain View High School. At Mountain View I played volleyball, was a member of student council, was the basketball statistician, was the editor in chief of the yearbook, and a student leader for My Future My Choice, all while working two jobs. This heavy involvement lead to my decision to attend a large University with a sea of opportunities. Oregon State was close enough to home and seemed to have endless possibilities and I truly cannot picture my college experience in any other way.

The Honors College has given me access to smaller class sizes and personal connections with professors that would have been much more difficult to come by otherwise. While at Oregon State I have become involved in many other activities besides the UHC. I am a member of the Panhellenic sorority of Kappa Delta and have held many leadership positions within my chapter. Being a member of Greek Life has allowed me to get involved with the community and make life long connections. I am also a member of a Bioengineering lab on campus with Dr. Elain Fu. This opportunity has given me professional experience to prepare me for a future career.

Oregon State has become a home away from home for me and I couldn’t be more confident in the choice I made to attend this University. The Honors College has allowed me to have numerous opportunities that have completely transformed my college experience. Please don’t hesitate to contact me I would absolutely love to get to know you and answer any questions that you have. As always, Go Beavs!
