In addition to the prestigious Honors Baccalaureate degree, the HC offers a variety of amenities designed to foster community and academic success.

HC Office & Staff

Student Learning Centers - SLUG

  • The HC has a study lounge/computer lab in LInC 340.
  • Printing in the SLUG is free for all HC students!

  • Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-9:00pm
  • Friday: 7:30 am-5:00pm
  • Closed on the weekends

Graduate Student Privileges

Students in the HC have graduate status with the OSU Valley Library, allowing students to check out books for three months instead of two weeks. In addition, all HC students have access to Student Multimedia Services located on the second floor of the Valley Library. This center houses the latest technology for producing and presenting academic work.

Rights

  • To the best undergraduate education OSU has to offer
  • To earn your HBA, HBS, HBFA or HBM
  • To information on scholarships, internships, job positions, and activities as collected by the HC staff and distributed via email
  • To ask the HC staff for assistance
  • To graduate student check-out privileges from the Valley Library
  • To voice your opinions concerning HC courses, faculty, and activities
  • To withdraw from the HC without penalty at any time (please meet with an advisor first)
  • To use the study room at the Valley Library reserved for HC students
  • To use the HC student learning centers
  • To unlimited printing in the student learning centers

Responsibilities

  • To check your Oregon State University e-mail account weekly for HC messages
  • To meet regularly with your HC advisor
  • To participate in HC activities (i.e. attend HC forums, presentations, barbecues)
  • To maintain a 3.25 cumulative OSU GPA
  • To make timely progress towards your Honors Baccalaureate degree
  • To participate in HC course evaluations and assess HC courses in which you are enrolled and share your experiences
  • To submit your bound HC thesis to our office no later than the Friday of Dead Week in the term in which you plan to graduate from OSU
  • To do what you can to instill a love of learning and enthusiasm for coursework in every class you take at OSU, not just your HC courses
  • To enjoy yourself and your OSU experiences
