Job Description

 

The University Honors College is looking for a Data Administrator with appropriate technical skills to manage database systems and Drupal 6 website for the University Honors College.  This is a part-time position, approximately 10 hours per week.  Hours worked can be flexible to accommodate a student schedule.  Wage begins at $10 an hour.

 

Primary Duties:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to:

  • Maintain UHC database integrity and create various reports
  • Troubleshoot report/query issues
  • Create new database tables and forms as needed
  • Add new content and features to website
  • Maintain forms and existing content on website

 

Secondary Duties:

In addition to their primary responsibility of ensuring the UHC databases and website are up to date, the student database administrator may occasionally be called on to support the UHC office staff in their day-to-day operations.

 

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Knowledge of database systems (including Microsoft Access)
  • Experience with queries, forms, reports, macros and VBA code.
  • Experience with MySQL and SQL
  • Experience with XHTML and CSS
  • Proficiency in Windows XP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently as well as to interact with colleagues in a professional and polite manner

Desired:

  • Familiarity with PHP and object-oriented programming
  • Experience with Drupal 6 or similar Content Management Systems
  • Awareness of web accessibility and security issues
  • Familiar with Photoshop and Dreamweaver
