Honors vs. non-Honors Courses

Quality rather than quantity separates Honors courses from non-Honors courses. The goal is to encourage the student to extract more intellectual value out of course content and work rather than simply to cover more material or assign more.

University Honors College courses feature small classes with high achieving students. As such, teaching an Honors course presents a unique opportunity to bring out the best in both the students and the faculty. We encourage faculty to take advantage of this opportunity by incorporating enhancements that provide an enriched learning experience. These may include some or all of the following.
