My infatuation with veterinary medicine began at a very young age; I grew up on a working cattle ranch on Sauvie Island and Long Creek, Oregon, and spent most of my time around animals (mostly horses and cows). Whenever the vet was out to look at one of our animals I was on his heels asking questions and trying to help him with whatever procedure he was doing. No matter what it was, it fascinated me and I knew it was the career for me.

In regards to animal experience, I compete horses in the sport of three day eventing, and I was a working student for a 5* Level event rider for two years in Washington. I have also taken part in 4H in both the equine and bovine projects, and I joined the United States Pony Clubs where I have attained my HA certification. To put it simply, animals are one of the biggest parts of my life.

My interests definitely lie in the large animal field, in specific rural large animal practice and equine sports medicine. In the past I have worked at Columbia Equine Hospital in Gresham, Oregon with Dr. Scott Hansen. I am super excited to work with my mentor Dr. Kate Schoenhals in the Rural Veterinary Practice Department this year through the PVS program.
