Congrats to 2024 HC graduate Athena Peterson Athena earned an H.B.S in microbiology with a minor in chemistry and marine biology and completed her thesis, “Apicomplexa community profiles in the thermosensitive reef-building coral, Acropora hyacinthus, throughout extreme coral bleaching event” under the mentorship of Dr. Rebecca Vega-Thurber, a professor of microbiology in the College of Science. After graduation, Athena plans on heading up to Alaska to work as a naturalist for part of her gap year while she applies for PhD programs!
