Congrats to 2023 HC graduate C. Alexander Varela! Alexander earned an H.B.A. in history and education and completed his thesis, “The Politics of Homophobia: Examining the Intersection of Political Expediency and Nazi Ideology,” under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Thompson, an associate professor of ethnic studies in the College of Liberal Arts. After graduation, Alexander plans on teaching history and English at the high school level for a few years before returning to graduate school for an advanced degree in ethnic studies.
