Carolyn Pearce

Congrats to 2023 HC graduate Carolyn Pearce! Carolyn earned an H.B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry and completed her thesis, “The effect of feeding spent hemp biomass on bone growth in broiler chickens,” under the mentorship of Dr. Massimo Bionaz, aa associate professor of dairy nutrigenomics in the College of Agricultural Sciences. After graduation, Carolyn will be returning to Oregon State in the fall to begin a master's in animal science in the Bionaz lab. She was very fortunate to be chosen as the recipient of the Chester M. Wilcox fellowship which will allow her to spend the next year expanding upon the research she started while working on her honors thesis
