Hello! My name is Giovannie Lopez! I come from Kelso, Washington and I am a first-year student majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in computer science. My end goal is to work in the field of robotics.

The reason behind me coming to Oregon State University is due to the kind atmosphere that Oregon State provide as well as their great program in robotics and having the support of the Honors College is that little extra bonus that Oregon State has that allows for more personal connections with my teachers due to smaller class sizes.  Thanks to the Honors College I have met many great friends that are like-minded on their plans for their future.

In my time at Oregon State I have spent time in battle bots club, where I have further entertained the idea of working on different types of robots as well as communicating with others on ideas I have, allowing me to hear the thought processes of students that have far more experience on more efficient ways to do things as well as incorporate some things I have learned from the classes I have had already at Oregon State.

I can answer questions regarding the Honors College and College of Engineering. I can also talk to you about some of the clubs we have here such as the video game club and battle bots club. I love hanging out and talking about or playing Smash Bros, Robotics, electricity, chess and battle bots. Don’t hesitate to reach out if there are any questions you have!
