Congrats to 2024 HC graduate Kimberly Truong Kimberly earned an H.B.S. in computer science and mathematics and completed her thesis, “A Deeper Dive into the Subset Scan Statistic for Open Set Recognition” under the mentorship of Dr. Weng-Keen Wong, a professor of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the College of Engineering. After graduation, Kimberly will be starting her Ph.D. in Societal Computing within the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University in the fall. She will be researching how to make machine learning systems more interpretable and fair.
