Congrats to 2022 HC graduate Mikayla Chen! Mikayla earned an H.B.S. in biochemistry and molecular biology, with minors in chemistry and Spanish, and completed her thesis, “Hepatic Gene Expression Patterns in C57BL/6J Mice Fed High-Fat Diets Supplemented with Watermelon Flesh, Arginine, Citrulline, Lycopene, or S-methylmethionine,” under the mentorship of Dr. Neil Shay, professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology in the College of Agricultural Sciences. Next, Mikayla is heading to the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she will be pursuing a Ph.D. in biochemistry, cellular, and molecular biology.
