The Honors College aims to create a safe learning environment for all students during the public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. While we cannot eliminate all risks, reducing risks is the shared responsibility of all members of the community – students, faculty and staff included. The Honors College Community Compact outlines the rules and guidelines all HC students who return to campus agree to follow to minimize the spread of COVID-19. These rules and guidelines may be updated and revised as we receive additional guidance from the city, state, and federal governments.
As an Honors College community member,
I understand that the Honors College has adopted the following requirements to promote the collective well-being of our community.
I further understand that my ability to access Honors College resources is conditioned by my adherence to these policies.
I will follow these policies not just for my own health, but also to protect and safeguard the health of those around me, including fellow students, university staff and faculty, and local community members.
I acknowledge and agree that these rules and guidelines may change as life on campus and public health guidance evolve and as new testing and tracing methods emerge, and I agree to abide by any new rules and guidelines.
I agree to the following:
Required testing, education, and contact tracing
If I test positive for COVID-19, I will share truthful information with the contact tracers about others who may be at risk.
Self-isolation, quarantine, and preventative health
If I test positive for COVID-19, I will comply with the State of Oregon’s public health and self-isolation guidelines.
Promptly upon discovering any symptoms of COVID-19, I will contact OSU Student Health Services, seek guidance and comply with the medical instructions I am given.
If I am found to have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, I will comply with all self-quarantine protocols. Review the OSU Isolation Measures here.
Physical distancing, face coverings and behavioral requirements
I will wear a face mask or facial covering in any areas outside of my residence where I cannot constantly maintain six (6) feet of separation from others (i.e., any public areas, including hallways, laundry rooms, dining halls, and public spaces in any campus buildings). Review the OSU Face Covering Policy here.
I will limit the number of close-contact exposures and avoid congregating with more than ten (10) people at one time, indoors or outdoors.
I will follow OSU’s directives for physical distancing in campus spaces, buildings, and areas. Review the OSU Physical Distancing Policy here.
I will abide by safety rules established by the Honors College, including reduced space capacities and resource usage guidelines. When using shared resources, I will follow cleaning protocols.
I will keep my contact information and emergency contact information updated in MyOregonState.
I will follow protocols established by OSU and my local community to limit exposure for others.
If requested, I will participate in wellness checks, either in person or through video.
If any in-person get-togethers are allowed at a future time, I will follow all current guidelines at OSU, in indoor or outdoor settings, and I will neither host nor attend any gathering that exceeds the maximum capacity (10) allowed.
I will practice good hygiene, including thorough and frequent hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer, especially when returning from outside, after using a restroom, and before meals.
My use of Honors College campus resources indicates agreement with these rules and guidelines.
