The Honors College recognizes that paying the differential tuition associated with HC enrollment can present a significant challenge. The Honors College Differential Tuition Scholarship is designed to make sure that students who are fully engaged with their HC education are not forced to withdraw due to the cost of enrollment in the college. Supported by donations from friends, particularly members of the Honors College Parent Leadership Circle, Differential Tuition Scholarships will cover either the full cost of HC differential tuition or half the cost of HC tuition for one academic year for selected returning students. Only students with unmet financial need who are making progress toward completion of Honors College degree requirements are eligible to receive a scholarship. Not all applicants will receive awards. Applications will be reviewed by a committee and will be evaluated on the strength of responses to the questions below. Length of enrollment in the college, progress in meeting degree requirements, and FAFSA-determined need will also be considered in application review. The total number of awards and the size (full or half scholarships) will be determined by availability of funds. Scholarships will not be renewed for ensuing years and will only apply during terms in which recipients are paying Honors College differential tuition. Past recipients are eligible to apply again. Scholarship awards, if accepted, will be added to students’ total anticipated financial aid for the upcoming year.
The application for the 2021-2022 Differential Tuition Scholarship will be available beginning January 4th, 2021, with a submission deadline of 11:59PM March 29th, 2021.
Students who are unable to pay the Honors College differential tuition in a specific term due to unforeseen circumstances or who are experiencing other financial challenges can apply for an HC Differential Tuition Grant at any time during the academic year. Differential Tuition Grants are for one-term only and are not eligible for renewal.
