The Honors College recognizes that paying the differential tuition associated with HC enrollment can present a significant challenge. The Honors College Differential Tuition Scholarship is designed to make sure that students who are fully engaged with their HC education are not forced to withdraw due to the cost of enrollment in the college. Supported by donations from the Honors College community, Differential Tuition Scholarships cover between half and the full HC differential tuition for one academic year. Continuing scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year have been awarded. The application for 2026-2027 scholarships will open March 16, 2026. All students who wish to be considered for a 2026-2027 continuing student scholarship in the Honors College should apply to the Differential Tuition Scholarship through ScholarDollars. Only returning and continuing Honors College students who are making progress toward completion of Honors College degree requirements are eligible to receive a scholarship.
Differential Tuition Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee and will be evaluated on the strength of responses to the questions, length of enrollment in the college, progress in meeting degree requirements, and FAFSA-determined need. FAFSA and ORSAA must be completed every year. The total number of awards and the size of the awards will be determined by availability of funds. Scholarships will not be renewed for ensuing years and will only apply during terms in which recipients are paying Honors College differential tuition. Past recipients are eligible to apply again. Scholarship awards, if accepted, will be added to students’ total anticipated financial aid for the upcoming year.
Students who are experiencing other financial challenges can apply for an HC Emergency Grant at any time during the academic year. Emergency Grants are for one-term only and are not eligible for renewal.
