Honors College 2023-2024 PRAx Fellows Explore the Crossroads of Art and Science

The grand opening of the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts(PRAx) on April 6 will be a pivotal moment in the history of the arts and humanities at Oregon State. PRAx will be a new hub for performance artists, musicians, theatre groups and dance companies and highlight the work of contemporary artists situated at the crossroads of arts and sciences in its 3,000 square foot gallery.

Class of 2023 Graduate Feature – Kayla Bird

Back when she was deciding where to go to college, class of 2023 graduate Kayla Bird wanted two things: an academically challenging environment that fostered a sense of learning beyond a degree and to be part of a high achieving gymnastics program. Thanks to the Honors College, at Oregon State University she had access to both. Kayla will graduate in June with an H.B.S. in human development and family sciences and psychology and as a Division I athlete, neither of which is a small feat.

Class of 2023 Graduate Feature – Jannah Moussaoui

Class of 2023 graduate Jannah Moussaoui came to Oregon State University and the Honors College set on conducting research, and through her work in three different labs on campus, she has done just that. Jannah, a psychology major who was also recently named a recipient of the College of Liberal Arts Outstanding Senior Award, transferred to Oregon State after attending Linn-Benton Community College. While Jannah enjoyed her experience at LBCC, she felt limited by the lack of research and networking opportunities.
