Q: What is your role in the Honors College?

I coordinate the work of HC academic advising, along with advising students directly. I also teach the Stage 4 thesis workshop.

Q: What kind of questions can you answer from honors community members?

Questions about honors curriculum requirements. I love having conversations with students about how to align their education with their values, developing interests into thesis directions and how to structure the thesis writing process.

Q: What's something you enjoy doing outside of work?

Playing guitar, reading and watching movies at the Darkside.

Q: What's a book, podcast or movie that's inspired you or made you think recently?

I’m currently reading A World Appears, by Michael Pollan, which is super interesting. But Prophet Song, by Paul Lynch is a recent novel that’s stuck with me.

Q: If you had the opportunity to work on an HC thesis today, what do you think the theme or title would be?

Maybe a rock opera about the charms of obsolete media technology.

Q: What's something you've learned from the HC community that's influenced you?

The importance of staying curious and engaged! Whenever I’m feeling a little burnt out, all I need to do is ask one of my advisees what they’re up to and I’m inspired. I’m also continually inspired by the dedication of my colleagues in the HC.
