Congrats to fall HC graduate Lorenzo M. Curtis! Lorenzo earned an H.B.S. in ecological engineering with a minor in Spanish, and completed his thesis, “¡Sí, se puede! Employing a Personal Testimonio to Show Young Latinx Students and Families That Their Dreams of College are Well Within Reach,” under the mentorship of Dr. Kathryn McIntosh, associate professor of ESOL/bilingual and literacy education in the College of Education. After graduation, Lorenzo will be moving to Portland to live with his parents and younger siblings while also working on the Spanish translation of his HC thesis. He'll be studying for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam and doing a six-month paid internship with MECOP working with ArcGIS (Geographic Information Systems). This will be Lorenzo's first engineering-related position and he is elated! Beyond that, he will be cooking, baking, reading, lifting and spending quality time with his loved ones.
