This piece from the 2003 winter edition of the Chronicle by HC student Naaman Horn, ‘03 (H.B.S., Speech Communication) offers a rare glimpse into the HC’s Steering Committee, a precursor to the current Honors College Student Association. From organizing social events to community outreach, the committee worked to ensure the HC was more than just a place with a lower acceptance rate and challenging coursework. This article serves as yet another example of how the HC strives to do good both within and outside of Oregon State University and as a powerful reminder that students, alumni, faculty and friends are as much a part of the HC's future as they are of its present. — Ava Wittman, Student Writer
