Position Description
This role challenges you to become an acoustic engineer by designing and characterizing active metamaterials for acoustic applications. You will:
1. Build a complete acoustic measurement setup
2. Conduct systematic acoustic characterization experiments
3. Verify your experimental findings with finite element simulations

Project Description
Metamaterials are engineered materials with properties beyond those in natural materials. Imagine a world where buildings or vehicles intelligently control noise in an active way. What if you could design active metamaterials not only control sound but also change the way of managing acoustic wave behavior based on the environment? Our group explored smart materials and shape-morphing structures for active metamaterials with tunable physical properties, including mechanical, acoustic, and electromagnetic ones for different applications.
