Hi there! I'm Dakota (she/her/hers), and I'm a second-year chemical engineering major with a minor in chemistry here at the Oregon State University Honors College. Growing up, I lived in the Portland Metro area before moving to Corvallis to go to Oregon State, so I'm an Oregonian through and through!

I've learned that I value an academic environment where I can make the most of my interests and meet other like-minded students, which is part of the reason why I decided that Oregon State was the right fit for me. I also love the campus, and I'm far enough away from home without being too far.

When I was an incoming first-year student, I was overwhelmed by the opportunities that I had and all of the different majors I could choose to pursue. I decided to join the Honors College to have a place to belong and to create closer connections with my professors and fellow students. This has proven to be one of the best decisions I made; with the smaller class sizes, personal focus and fun social events, the Honors College has become a place where I can learn about myself and who I want to become.

Outside of being an Honors College ambassador, I'm also an artist, musician and avid reader. I'm also involved in the OSU gaming club, where I met my current D&D group and play once a week. Through my courses here at Oregon State, I've been able to try so many things that I thought I'd never do. Now I play pickleball recreationally, and I've learned how to ballroom dance!

Making college decisions can be nerve-wracking, but there's a place for everyone here at Oregon State. I found my place in the Honors College, and I'd love to see you around in the coming years!
