Honors College students have access to several study and social spaces. Originially located in the basement of Strand Agricultural Hall, the HC Student Learning Center was named the "SLUG" - Students Learning UnderGround - in recognition of one of the Willamette Valley's most familiar denizens (with a nod to the Honors students who enjoyed sleeping on the room's couches). Even after moving above ground and out of Strand, the HC SLCs - which feature free printing, computers, and lounge areas - remains a mainstay of the HC experience.

Student Computer Lab - SLUG

The main HC Student Learning Center space, including a computer lab, a refrigerator and microwave, a student staff member, and lounge area, is in LInC 340.


The HC Student Learning Center space is open from week one through finals week during fall, winter, and spring terms:

  • 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday
  • 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday
  • Closed Saturday
  • 1:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday
