The SLUG - Honors College Student Learning Center in Corvallis

The SLUG in Learning Innovation Center 340 is the Honors College student learning space on the Corvallis campus. "SLUG" stands for Students Learning UnderGround and dates back to the Honors College's early days in Strand Agricultural Hall, when the student learning space was in the basement. Honors College alum (and current Board of Regents member) Adam Bean '00 proposed the name, and it has stuck ever since - even after the move to decidedly above ground accommodations on the third floor of the LInC.

Amenities in the SLUG include computers, free printing, study and lounge spaces, a private study room, writable surfaces, a plug-in display for group work and a small kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, sink and snacks.

Hours

The SLUG is open during fall, winter and spring terms from the first day of classes through finals week:

  • 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday
  • 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday
