Hi! I’m Oona, I use they/them pronouns and I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I’m a first-year student studying climate science with a certificate in Geographic Information Science (GIS), which is the biggest reason why I decided to attend Oregon State, aside from the fact that I love rainy weather.

I chose Oregon State because of its amazing undergraduate atmospheric sciences program, but I have now added another major and also gotten involved with undergraduate research for the Shiel Lab studying lead isotope ratios. Outside of the classroom I’m involved with the Ocean11 club and environmental science club, which has been really fun to learn things about other programs and different events going on around campus and in the Corvallis area.

I’ve loved all of the honors classes that I’ve taken, but I’ve also taken a lot of my classes at Linn Benton Community College as part of the DPP program to help offset the out-of-state tuition costs. In my free time I love to read, write, draw, and play music and I love talking to new people so feel free to contact me with whatever you need to know!
